Week #7: September 24-28, 2018

Attached you will find the newsletter for this week. We have the Fund Run on Wednesday at 9:50-10:20. Students do not need to bring their donation money on Wednesday. They have until October 9th to turn in the money. The theme for this year's Fund Run is "Favorite Sports Teams" and students are encouraged to wear their favorite team shirts or team colors.

Last week I sent a message via Sign-up Genius to sign up for Parent Teacher Conference. If you have a tight schedule, make an appointment time soon to get the time that fits your schedule.

Week #6: September 17-21, 2018

The weeks are flying by in fourth grade! We are busy working and trying hard everyday! Students are working on getting Fund Run pledges for our main fundraiser of the year. This will be on Wednesday, September 26th at 9:50. Parents are invited to come out to cheer or run/walk with us! This week I am sending some multiplication timed test home for practice. Students need to put some effort into learning their facts with speed. These timed test do not need to be returned to school, but I do hope you will spend some time practicing. There are far better ways to practice than timed games, flash cards, skip counting, multiplication songs, or putting sticky notes around the house for hard facts.

Early this week we will finish publishing our poems. Students can log on to Microsoft 365 from home if they need extra time or help with poem publishing. They should know log on information or can take their binder home. We have a Technology section in our binder with password information. A few students fell behind on some poems and may need to catch up.

Please see our newsletter for more details about our week. I will send an email to make Parent Teacher Conference appointments later this week.

Weekly Newsletter #6

Week #5: September 10-14, 2018

Week #4: September 4-7, 2018

Below you will find the Weekly Newsletter for Week #4. We have a short week with lots to accomplish. Students will bring homework project #2 home this week. They will create a collage for the cover of their California Adventure Notebook. They will bring the directions and paper for the collage home on Tuesday. This will be due on Friday (9/7) or Monday (9/10). Either day is fine.
The Spelling City Weekly Homework Assignments have begun. Students need to complete three or four activities for the week every week. Students who do not have a computer or internet access may use their classroom computer during recess at study hall or when there is open class time.
Students who did not pass the Geography Term Quizzes will retake their quizzes on Wednesday.
Please read our Weekly Newsletter #4 for more details about our week.

Week #3: August 27-31, 2018

Below you will find our Room 6 Weekly Newsletter for week #3. It has all the details for our week. I will also send a paper copy home just in case there are errors with email addresses.
A few notes...
Planners come home daily (except for Fridays) to communicate the color of our behavior card and any work that is unfinished should be highlighted to do for homework. Students should also write the title of the book they read for nightly reading. Some students are having troubles getting into a routine with their planners, so I am trying to give extra reminders.
Information for Spelling City will go home in Manchester Folders on Monday. We will practice how to log-on to Spelling City on Tuesday. It would be helpful for all students to have their earbuds at school by Tuesday.
The yellow "Back to School" Folders were sent home for you to keep. It has all of our classroom information inside, and your atlas log in information as well.
Have a great week!
