This is my twelfth year of teaching and second year at Manchester GATE. Previously, I taught at Norseman Elementary in FUSD. I have experience in second, fourth, and fifth grade. Fourth grade is my absolute favorite!
I grew up on the Central Coast and moved to Fresno to earn my Bachelor of Arts and Teaching Credential from California State University, Fresno. Go Bulldogs! While in college, I met my husband Paul and we were married shortly after my first year of teaching. We have four-year-old twin daughters named Chloe and Claire who keep life interesting.
2010 was a monumental year for me. I earned a Masters of Arts in Educational Administration and Supervision, a longtime personal and professional goal. Learning is a life-long endeavor and I feel it is important to continue developing as a professional. I believe that setting goals, hard work, and determination build character.
In my classroom, you will find a rigorous standards-based environment that provides safety, trust, and respect. It is important to build a sense of community. Cooperation, collaboration, and compassion are essential to learning. Individual differences are celebrated and shared as we learn from each other (teachers and students).
Outside of the classroom, I love spending time with family. Outdoor activities like camping are among my favorite. I also enjoy surfing the Internet, reading, and listening to music.
I look forward to a sensational year full of memories!
